An open attitude has led to other unusual associations. In 1995, Babcock Winery entered into a partnership with author Anne Rice, most noted for her novel "Interview With The Vampire," and created a Cuvée Lestat Syrah named after one of her leading characters. The wine was so popular that a second series was launched with Syrah, Chardonnay, and Claret--a red Bordeaux blend of grapes. Although these wines are no longer available, they can be found in the hands of many collectors.
